Join glass artist Shonah Escombe for a hands-on day exploring the art of stained glass, and the satisfying process of transforming colourful pieces of glass into a striking geometric artwork. Using the copper foiling technique, you’ll be guided through each stage of creating your own design, from exploring colour, shape and pattern to cutting glass, applying copper foil and soldering the pieces together. As you discover how individual shapes fit together to create a cohesive design, you’ll develop new skills and gain an appreciation for the craftsmanship behind this beautiful art form.
With Shonah on hand to guide you through the process, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with colour combinations and geometric patterns to create a piece that is entirely your own. You’ll leave with a handmade stained glass sun catcher ready to catch the light at home, along with the skills and confidence to continue exploring this rewarding craft. All tools and materials will be provided. Suitable for complete beginners, with no previous experience necessary.
