Central Scotland School of Craft is a community for creative learning, delivering artisan workshops for crafters of all abilities in the historic city of Dunblane.
The Central Scotland School of Craft is a centre for creative learning in the picturesque city of Dunblane. We offer artisan classes ranging from one day workshops to week-long courses, for everyone from complete beginners to established professional makers. ‘A list’ crafters from all over the country are lined up to deliver a range of craft classes with a focus on heritage and sustainable crafts, and skilled hand-making.
Our bright and spacious studio on Dunblane High Street is the perfect setting for the creative community to come together and learn. Dunblane is ideally situated to be reached from all of Scotland whether by road or public transport. It’s the perfect destination for a craft holiday!

Cyanotype Print Workshop
For Up to 10 People
Join us for a fascinating exploration of the beautiful world of cyanotype printmaking, an accessible, darkroom-free photographic process that creates striking blue and white prints using daylight, water, and everyday objects. Throughout the workshop you’ll learn how to mix cyanotype chemicals, coat your own papers, and expose prints using both natural daylight and UV light. Experiment with a wide range of image-making techniques including botanical photograms using flowers and foliage, photographic negatives, drawing and mark making on acetate, and layering found materials to create unique compositions.
Bookbinding Workshop
For Up to 10 People
Join us for a fun filled spoon carving workshop with master wood-worker Louise Forbes, learning all the skills you need to carve your very own wooden spoon. In this fun filled day you will transform a gorgeous hunk of sustainably sourced Scottish wood into a carved masterpiece of your own design in just a day. Beware though ... spoon carving is addictive, after a meditative day of carving, filing and sanding in our bright and friendly studio you'll be hooked! All of the materials and tools will be provided, all you need to bring is an open mind and a big smile.
