Join us for a day creating colourful embroidered lettering with local textile artist Kirstie Campbell. Compose an impressive embroidered monogram inspired by vintage lettering and fonts, you can use the stencils provided or create your own freestyle design. After tracing your design onto your chosen fabric we’ll learn all about different stitches that each play their own role in your composition. First we’ll explore linear stitches used for outlining, then a range of different textured ‘filler’ stitches to fill and embellish your design. Experiment as you go and combine all the stitches you learn along the way to build a colourful and pattern filled piece of original embroidery. Finally we’ll show you how to finish off your fabric to display your embroidered letter in embroidery hoop and attach a ribbon to hang it from.
This hand-embroidery workshop is a great way for complete beginners to engage in mindful stitching. Whether you’re new to embroidery or a more advanced stitcher, all are welcome to learn, re-learn or discover new stitches and techniques.
- All tools and materials for your embroidered lettering workshop are included in the course cost, but you are welcome to bring your own materials to incorporate into your design
- Tea and coffee are provided but participants should bring their own lunch and utensils
- All of our classes are suitable for over 16s, younger crafters may be accommodated if accompanied by a participating adult but please contact us before booking

- All of our workshops are held at our accessible workshop at Craft Central, High Street, Dunblane, FK15 0EE.
