Discover creative ways to use up your leftover yarn scraps with our ‘Waste Knot’ Crochet Pots workshop. In this eco-friendly crochet class, you’ll discover how to transform donated and leftover yarn into a colourful, practical basket. Perfect for beginners as well as those looking to build confidence, the session combines sociable stitching with sustainable, zero-waste making. Start saving your wool scraps from your other knit and crochet projects, or dive into our stash of donated yarn to create your own curated colour combination.

Under Cynthia’s guidance, you’ll learn how to combine yarn scraps into your own colour-ply yarn, begin with a magic circle, crochet in the round, and build height to shape your piece. You’ll also explore different ways to finish your design, from adding a handle to creating scalloped edges, making your basket truly unique.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a handmade crochet basket that’s as useful as it is beautiful. Whether you’re imagining a pen pot, a plant holder, or a trinket tray, this class is designed to spark your creativity while helping you make the most of upcycled materials.

This crochet workshop is a wonderful opportunity to explore sustainable crafts, learn new techniques, and create something lasting in a friendly and supportive environment.

Outcomes:
  • How to hold your hook and material
  • how to start a project using the ‘magic circle’ technique
  • how to crochet in the round
  • how to add vertical height to your vessel
  • how to add handles or scalloped edges to finish your top edge
