10am – 4pm
Join local mosaic artist Rhona Duffy for an upcycled mosaic workshop and create a playful mixed-media artwork for your home or garden. In the spirit of sustainability we’ll incorporate reclaimed materials such as bone china and slate, as well as high quality sheet glass for a colourful and high quality finish. We encourage you to bring along any bone china that you’d like to incorporate into your design – Rhona will be able to advise you about its suitability for outdoors. Choose your own motif to work from, it can be anything that inspires you … a house number, a favourite flower, an initial or something else – you choose! The workshop is suitable for both beginners and intermediate levels. So whether you’re brand new to mosaics, or if you’ve been to a previous workshop and would like to further develop your skills, you’re very welcome! You’ll learn about the materials suitable for exterior mosaics plus how to use tools to cut mosaics and glass, and you’ll grout your mosaic if you have enough time – otherwise, you can watch how it’s done and complete it at home. It’s a relaxed atmosphere where, not only will you develop or hone your mosaic skills, but you’ll also have an enjoyable day out!
