Join Bookbinder Cass Baron for a creative day of printmaking and botanical bookbinding inspired by the nature on our doorstep.
You’ll start the day with some sketching and foraging in the studio grounds before you make a set of reusable botanical stamps inspired by your findings. You’ll then use your unique stamps to create a collection of decorative papers. Cass will guide you in building up layers using your prints and stencils to create a sense of depth and movement.
After a well earned lunch break Cass will introduce you to a range of book structures. She will guide you in transforming a selection of your printed papers into a collection of usable journals and Artists’ Books. This is a small group workshop so there will be lots of opportunity to tailor the bookbinding to fit your work and what interests you most.
You’ll leave the workshop with a set of reusable stamps, new botanical bookbinding skills and a collection of beautiful books to use and display. Cass will also have a range of tools available to buy at the end of the class so that you can continue your book making journey at home.
Tea, coffee and treats will be provided but we ask that participants bring their own packed lunches.
All of our classes are suitable for people over the age of 16.
If the workshop you were looking at is fully booked drop us an email to be added to the waiting list. As restrictions ease we might be able to add more spaces to some of our courses. We will add extra dates to our most popular workshops too, join the mailing list to be the first to know.
