Description
Sat 25 Oct (10am – 4pm) & Sun 26 Oct (11am – 4pm)
Join Jo McDonald for a two-day Beginners Tapestry Weaving Workshop. The course will cover a range of different tapestry weaving techniques, and is suitable both for complete beginners and for improvers looking to refresh their skills and add new techniques to their repertoire. Over the weekend, you’ll explore the possibilities of weaving using a range of materials and techniques. Working on a small frame loom, you will create a woven sample, exploring different flat weaving techniques to create simple shapes, angles, curves and stripes.
A wide variety of materials will be available to experiment with, including cottons, wools, linens, and some unusual yarns for creative weft blending. If you have your own materials you’d like to include—perhaps an old jumper to upcycle or leftover yarn from previous projects—feel free to bring them along. Sustainability is encouraged
