Join us for an evening discussion at Craft Central with resident sewing tutor and zero waste design expert Cassandra Belanger. Having recently returned from Africa, Cassandra has been educating tailors, upcyclers, brands, and designers in Ghana, Nigeria, and Uganda. She also works with international brands as a zero waste design consultant. Her work promotes a sustainable future and calls us all—fashion industry giants to home sewers—to rethink textile waste.

Cassandra will showcase her projects, workshops, and initiatives on garment design and sewing, offering practical steps to reduce textile waste globally and at home.

This is a free event but spaces are limited so booking is essential. Please reserve your space by adding to your basket and checking out, you will not be charged. If you book a space and can no longer attend please let us know on so that we can offer your space to someone else.

Fabric Swap: We welcome all crafters and sewers to bring along your unused fabric from your stash and swap it for something more inspiring for your projects. Please pin on a little label with fabric info to include: fibre content if known, size and if it has been pre-washed. This is an optional part of the evening.
